The XVI international scientific-practical conference “Leather and fur in XXI century: technology, quality, environment, education” hosted

11-13 November 2020 the XVI international scientific-practical conference “Leather and fur in XXI century: technology, quality, environment, education” hosted online at the Department “Technology of leather, fur. Water recourses and commodity research” and OOO “MIP “EK” of ESSUTM.

The conference was organized by:

– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Buryatia;

– Mongolian State Agricultural University (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia)

– National Research & Development Institute for Textile and Leather (Bucharest, Romania)

– Division Leather & Footwear Research Institute (Bucharest, Romania)

– Mongolian Association of Leather Manufacturers (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia)

– LLC “Small Innovative Enterprise “ECOM”, VSGUTU;

– ERASMUS+ International Program “University Capacity Development”.

The conference was welcomed by Prof. Sizov I. G.-Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the conference and Prof. Osodoeva O. A. – Chairman of the international student conference “Technology of leather and fur”.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to the international project “Establishment of Leather Hubs in Russia and Mongolia (LEATHUB) 598715-EPP-1-TR-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP)” / “Creation of educational and innovative centers for leather technologies (leather hubs) in Russia and Mongolia”, implemented within the framework of the ERASMUS+ program and the creation of the department “Leather Technology, Fur. Water recourses and commodity research”, ESSUTM the education innovation center of the leather.

The second day of the conference was devoted to scientific developments in the field of leather and fur production. Representatives of India, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, China, Ukraine, Lithuania, as well as basic research and educational organizations of Russia working in the field of creating innovative technologies and training specialists in the processing of leather and fur raw materials were heard.

On the third day of the conference, the section “Young Scientists for Light Industry” was held. The section was opened by Deputy Director General of the Taldom tannery Shmykova M. Yu and Prof. Plyusnin, A. M., Deputy Director on scientific work of GIN SB RAS, who spoke about the prospects of professional activities for students’ directions 29.03.01 Technology of products of light industry and 20.03.02 environmental engineering and water management. Reports of postgraduates, undergraduates and bachelors from Mongolia, China, Moscow, Tuva and Buryatia were heard.

A poster session was organized as part of the conference.

Based on the results of the work, a decision was made to publish the collection of the conference “Leather and Fur in the XXI century: technology, quality, ecology, education” and to publish it on the website of the university and www.oooekom.ru.

The organizing Committee thanked the head of the Department of international relations Sambueva B. V. and employee of TPP RB Labarova S. D. for assistance in the solution of language problems among the participants.
