An exhibition “Baikal Agro-2019” was held in Buryatia

“Before the opening of the exhibition, the Head of Buryatia held a workshop on the development of livestock breeding. Alexey Tsydenov noted that agriculture is a key economic activity of the Republic. The development of livestock farming generally affects the fate of the entire region.
The Head of the Republic noted that the exhibition from year to year becomes more widespread and significant. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation already considers «Baikal Agro» as a basic event for Siberia and the Far East. The event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Buryatia, as well as the Information and Methodological Center of the Republic of Buryatia and the State Breeder’s Service of the Republic of Buryatia.
—This is an opportunity to show our achievements, an opportunity for livestock breeders to communicate with each other, to find mutual connections, to conclude contracts, to sell animals, to share experiences. In other words, the event is of great practical and applied significance. Livestock certainly is one of the main areas of development for our republic. Thus, in 2018, 18 million rubles were allocated, and this year we increased funding to 30 million rubles. In the coming years, we will continue funding at the same pace, due to the demand for the development of livestock in our region, —said Alexey Tsydenov.
The program of the large-scale fair also included exercising of sporting horses, a competition of animal breeders and traditional harness, a trade fair of crafts, farm and livestock products, «petting zoo», master classes «Leather products», «Beekeeper’s Corner», «Blacksmith Master».

The presented project belongs to the key direction “”Capacity development of the universities”” / “”Capacity building in Higher Education””. Capacity development projects are inter-institutional cooperation projects between universities of the programme countries (European Union) and partner countries aimed at modernizing, expanding access to and developing internationalization of higher education in Partner countries, creating a platform for developing and strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Partner countries (as well as between Partner countries), promoting voluntary convergence with trends in the development of higher education in EU countries, and promoting intercultural and interpersonal exchange.
The project is implemented in accordance with a Grant Agreement between the Executive Agency for education, audiovisual and culture of the European Commission (the Agency) and the coordinating University.”
